Polls open with uncertainty surrounding local and national races

NANAIMO — Polls are now open in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith riding for the 2019 Federal Election.

Eligible voters can cast their ballot between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Their voter information card and also online at the Elections Canada shows the assigned voting stations.

In Nanaimo-Ladysmith, incumbent Green party MP Paul Manly looks to secure his first full term in Ottawa after winning the spring by-election.

He faces a crowded field of eight challengers, including Bob Chamberlin (NDP), James Chumsa (Communist), Jennifer Clarke (PPC), Michelle Corfield (Liberals), John Hirst (Conservative), Brian Marlatt (PC), Geoff Stoneman (Independent) and Echo White (Independent).
