NANAIMO — A yearly initiative hopes to keep as many cars off the road and help Nanaimo residents be more healthy.

Bike to Work and School Week began on Monday, May 27. Riders log the kilometres they’ve cycled instead of driven.

A release from the City of Nanaimo said staff are working to double the amount of active transportation trips, which includes cycling and running, by 2041.
