Hopefully final blast of winter hits Nanaimo and area

Feb 18, 2018 | 11:27 AM

NANAIMO — In a surprising turn of events, what was predicted to be a few centimetres of snow ended up being a few inches for Nanaimo.

Environment Canada shows the snow fell steadily from 6 a.m. to roughly 10 a.m. on Sunday, with the tempurature hovering around -1.

RDN Transit faced a difficult morning, cancelling several routes and imposing detours, but they were back on schedule by the afternoon.

The low Sunday night into Monday morning is supposed to sit at -8.
