NANAIMO — A solar eclipse is a rare opportunity and should be enjoyed. But experts warn, you should not look at the sun with your naked eye because it could cause permanent damage. 

NanaimoNewsNOW, with help from NASA, is live streaming the solar eclipse to give you a unique and safe way to watch this celestial event.

NASA is using 11 spacecraft, at least three NASA aircraft, more than 50 high-altitude balloons, and the astronauts aboard the International Space Station – each offering a unique vantage point.  

The partial eclipse will begin Monday at 9:09 a.m. and end at 11:36 a.m.  The maximum or closest the moon will be to the centre of the sun will be at 10:20 a.m.
