NANAIMO — There will be a flurry of writing and reading in downtown Nanaimo over the next few days.

The Nanaimo Spring Writes Festival runs from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre and surrounding stores.

Local author Ann Graham Walker said with over 200 people attending, the Federation of BC Writers had heard this is the largest writers festival ever on Vancouver Island.

“This is the most dynamic part of the whole province,” she said. “People really care about writing here. They’re generous and they support each other….It’s a great place to be a writer and be with others.”
