Accused Nanaimo drive-by shooter appears in court as trial nears
NANAIMO — Details of an upcoming trial have emerged following a shocking alleged drive-by shooting in Nanaimo a little over a year ago.
Crown Counsel has its case set against Armaan Chandi, 19, of Surrey and Inderpal Aujla, 20, of Mission, who face multiple charges, including attempted murder, after a car was sprayed with bullets on Wakesiah Ave. in broad daylight on March 2, 2016.
The intended target inside the car was not hurt, according to police.
Chandi and Aujla plead not guilty and their trial is scheduled to begin May 23 in Provincial Court in Nanaimo.
