CHILLIWACK — The BCHL Showcase proved to be a difficult venue for the Nanaimo Clippers.

Nanaimo went 0-2, finishing with a 4-2 loss against Salmon Arm on Saturday.

There was no more scoring until mid way through the second period when Adam Pilotte batted a puck out of the air to tie the game at 1-1.

A Nanaimo turnover led to the 2-1 goal just a couple of minutes later by Mitch Skapski, and a fortunate bounce landed on Carson Bolduc’s stick during a Salmon Arm power play and he made it 3-1 after two periods.

Spencer Hewson’s power play goal in the third made it closer, but with Nanaimo pressing Josh Latta provided some insurance on a clean breakaway.

Final shots were 28-24 for the Silverbacks with Trevin Kozlowski giving Salmon Arm their first win of the season.

Evan DeBrouwer took the loss for Nanaimo in his first start as a Clipper.

On the the power play Salmon Arm was 2/10 and Nanaimo went 1/5.
