Gregory Earl Yacoboski, May 20, 1951 –  September 29, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Greg Yacoboski, age 75, on September 29th, 2006, following a lengthy illness with Lewy Body Dementia. Greg was born on May 20th, 1951 to the late Wally and Betty Yacoboski in Port Alberni, BC, where he grew up alongside his brothers Wayne, Anton, and Lance. In his early years, Greg developed a deep desire to experience parts of the world first hand, taking him on memorable journeys throughout Belgium, Morocco, Greece, and England. Curiosity then led him to India, an experience that would be life-changing and set him on a spiritual path. Feeling drawn to meditation, Greg eventually found himself in Thailand, where he immersed himself in spiritual practice, becoming a Buddhist monk for a time.
