Andrew William Samarin, July 15, 1955 – May 4, 2026

DREWSKY Andrew William Samarin Drew, Drewsky, Doodah Born July 15 1955, left us May 4 2026 Our friend, our Brother, a Husband, a Father, a Grandpa and a Son Drew started in the Nanaimo Fire Service as a volunteer / night sleeper when he was just 15 years old and apparently riding his bike to calls. His career spanned 30+ years starting on October 30, 1976 until his retirement as a Captain on January 31, 2008. The Fire Department years were the best of Drew’s life. We would be remiss if we didn’t say they were the best for the Stagg Chilli Company as well. One of the the things he cherished the most was “the crazy ass Politically incorrect banter” among the men. Drew was a good man that touched many lives and we will miss him every day. Drew leaves behind his wife Carolyne, daughter Brenna, grandson Ryder, mother Vera, sisters Joanne (Grant) and Ruth, and he was pre-deceased by his father Charlie Samarin. The three loves of Drew’s life were his family, his dogs, and his brothers. You are at peace now Drew and we’ll take it from here! To Captain Samarin.
