Elton Ellis, September 11, 1955 –  October 13, 2026

In Loving Memory Elton J. Ellis, 71, of Nanaimo BC, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026 surrounded by family. Elton was born in O’Leary, PEI on September 11, 1955. He married his best friend, Eileen, in 1982. They have shared 47 beautiful years together. Elton was the son of the late Garfield and Irene Ellis of O’Leary Prince Edward Island. He is survived by his wife Eileen of Nanaimo BC; his sons Justin Ellis (Karen) and Robert Ellis (Vanessa); his grandchildren Bentley, Sydney, Kennedy, Liam and Rylee Ellis; He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Linda and (Bruce), Barbara and (Andrew), and Darlene and (Ricky), all of PEI; and brothers Eldred and (the late Sharon) Ellis of PEI, Vic and (Robin) Ellis of Calgary, the late Robert and (Marion) Ellis of PEI, Wade and (Marie) Ellis of PEI, and Gary and (Jackie) Ellis of PEI. Sister-in-law, Gail of Hope, B.C. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews. In 1991, Elton founded JR Excavating – a company whose initials represented his two greatest joys: his sons Justin and Rob. Elton took great pride in his work and cherished the relationships he built throughout his career. Above all else, Elton was the best Papa to his grandchildren. He loved playing cards, he also enjoyed golf, woodworking and playing his guitar. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sands Funeral Home – 1 Newcastle Ave. Nanaimo – November 7, 2026 from 1 PM to 4 PM
