EARLIER:

PARKSVILLE — Oceanside RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who allegedly robbed a bank.

RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman said 47-year-old Mark Brooks Lee is accused of walking into the Parksville TD Bank around 5 p.m. on May 10 and asking for a significant sum of money.

“He mentioned the fact he had a firearm, although no firearm was seen,” Foreman said.

Oceanside RCMP are also after Lee for reportedly stealing a 2015 Nissan Altima on Tuesday, May 15. It’s brown with the license plate 632JAR.

Foreman said Lee is known to police.

“Unfortunately the last photo we have of him is taken in 2011 but it’s a fairly good resemblance,” Foreman said. “He’s a little skinnier now in his face.”

Lee is white, standing 5’11” with a slim build, brown shaved hair as well as eyes of different colours, one being brown and the other blue. Foreman said Lee is from Qualicum Beach but there’s no current information on his living situation.

If anyone has information about Lee they’re urged to immediately call Oceanside RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
