VIU announced as venue for Prime Minister’s Nanaimo town hall

NANAIMO — The venue and schedule for the Prime Minister’s town hall meeting in Nanaimo has been announced.

Justin Trudeau will host the open meeting in the lower cafeteria, building 185, at Vancouver Island University on Feb. 2. Doors open at 9 a.m., with the event beginning at 11 a.m.

Seating is on a first come, first served basis. People are encouraged to RSVP through this website, however doing so does not guarantee a seat.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the event will last roughly 90 minutes to two hours. There is no sign-up list to ask a question, as the PMO said Trudeau will go around the room and ask people to raise their hands.

The series of cross-Canada town hall meetings are designed to discuss “how we create growth that works for everyone, prepare for the jobs of the future, and build a stronger more resilient middle class.”
