Crews battle wildfire on Westside Road near Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. — Crews are said to be making good progress on a wildfire on Westside Road, 16 km’s north of Kelowna.
 
An Evacuation Alert has been issued for Camp Owaissi, Lake Okanagan Resort and Camp Mewata along Westside Road as a result of the Cinnabar Creek wildfire.
 
These residents should be prepared to leave their homes on short notice should conditions require an Evacuation Order.
 
People are requested to stay away from the immediate area and RCMP is doing traffic control.
 
The Emergency Operation Centre has been activated to support crews in the field responding to this incident.
 
New information will be released to the public through the media and cordemergency.ca as soon as it becomes available.
