Repeat offender jailed for ‘terrifying’ Nanaimo rock-throwing incident
NANAIMO — Following his recent jail sentence for a series of Nanaimo property crimes and a disturbing assault, a chronic offender was at it again.
Cole Granite Morecroft, 31, was sentenced on Monday, Sept. 14, after pleading guilty to an Aug. 24 incident in Nanaimo.
Crown counsel’s Megan Rahme told court a woman and her husband were travelling along Bowen Rd. when they saw Morecroft walking along the road toward them.
The driver swerved to another lane to avoid hitting Morecroft, who suddenly hurled a rock through the driver’s side window, shattering the glass, court heard.
