Helen Ilona Csinger, December 28, 1931 – June 7, 2026

Helen (Ilona) Csinger passed away on 7 June 2026 in Vancouver at the age of 94. She lived with conviction until her final hours, which passed peacefully in hospital with her son and grandson by her side. A survivor of war and revolution, Helen left the turbulence of her native Hungary and made a life in Montreal, QC where she became a certified laboratory technician. She retired in 1994 to Nanaimo, BC with her husband Joseph, where they worked together to curate his significant collection of poetry. After his death in 2006, she moved to Vancouver to be closer to her family. Helen is survived by her son Andrew, her daughter-in-law Susan and grandson Brogan.
