Deakin receives Economic Development Award

Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Jolleen Dick says the recognition was long overdue.

“Pat has been a mentor to me in my role here at the Chamber of Commerce,” she said. “He is a relationship builder and a community builder not just here in the Alberni Valley, but also on the island and clearly in BC with this amazing award.”

Deakin led the provincial economic development group for a decade as a director and chair, and has led local economic development plans for the city and First Nations for more than 30 years.
