Nanaimo-based firm lands federal forestry funding
NANAIMO — More than $4 million will benefit a local company’s ability to establish an advanced robotics facility to construct wooden trusses.
The funds to benefit Atlas Engineered Products Ltd. will allow the company to build a “cutting-edge wood manufacturing facility” to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
According to Natural Resources Canada, the company intends to build the new facility in Clinton, Ontario.
The funding was announced on Thursday, April 9 in Vancouver by Corey Hogan, parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources at the BC Council of Forest Industries annual convention.
