Hutchison succeeding in the crease for hometown Clippers
NANAIMO — Matthew Hutchison has had a junior hockey homecoming with the Clippers.
The 19-year-old joined the club in January after the last two seasons in the WHL with Vancouver, Moose Jaw and Regina.
Back in 2021, Hutchison started his career with games with Cowichan Valley in the BCHL and the Giants in the WHL. He also spent time with the VIJHL’s Oceanside Generals, but always hoped he’d get the chance to play in Nanaimo.
“Coming in and getting to play for my hometown team for the first time is pretty cool. It’s something I’ve dreamed of all through growing up and watching the Clippers play and having billets live with me. Getting to be on a team that’s real strong and winning games, it doesn’t get much more fun than that.”
