Mark Luke jailed for assaulting women

A Port Alberni man with an egregious history of assulting women was sentenced yesterday.

39-year old Mark Luke threatened, assaulted and extorted three women last May, adding to his 13 pages of criminal assaults on intimate partners and female family members.

He admitted to borrowing a girlfriend’s truck, then demanding money to return it.

In another case he threatened to make false reports to MCFD social workers possibly causing a girlfriend’s child to be apprehended, if she didn’t give him cash.

He was sentenced to 21 months jail and 3 years probation and ordered to repay more than $1200 to one of his victims.
