LANGLEY — The Clippers led 1-0 for most of the first 35 minutes against Langley but then ran into an avalanche of Rivermen goals.

Landon Pappas opened the scoring with a power play marker three and a half minutes into the contest but Langley scored three times in the final four minutes of the middle period to take control of the game.

Dmitrii Nazarov, Darius Bachler and Jak Birch notched quick tallies on Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau with both Nazarov and Birch getting their first goals of the season.

Andreas Mikrogiannakis added a dazzling breakaway goal early in the third period to give the Rivermen an insurmountable lead.

Tanner Bruender had a couple of late Nanaimo goals and Parker Forlin also scored an empty netter to seal the Langley win.

Nanaimo outshot Langley 41-40 but were stymied by a strong goaltending performance from the Rivermen’s Dylan Johnson.

The Clippers finished the night 1/3 on the power play and killed off all three penalties against them.

The four game season series ended with each team winning twice.

Nanaimo ended the night in a second place tie with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the Coastal West division after a Bulldogs 4-2 setback in Cowichan Valley.

The Clippers wrap up their three game mainland road trip with a game against the Coastal East leading Coquitlam Express on Jan. 24
