Dec 19, 2025 | 10:28 PM

NANAIMO — The Clippers home ice struggles continued with a 2-0 home loss to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Alberni Valley scored power play goals from Wyatt Blace and Kai Matthew late in the first period and early in the second to capture the win.

Bulldogs goalie Jack Hirshorn was named the game’s first star with 39 saves, many of them spectacular, especially in a fifteen shot third period for the Clippers.

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau was also strong for Nanaimo making 29 stops.

Aside from the goaltending there were several goal posts and near misses along the way.

It was a penalty filled game with the Clippers going 0/7 on the man advantage and 5/7 killing penalties.

Nanaimo is now 2-2-1 against Alberni Valley in the regular season series.

The standings are incredibly tight in the middle of the Coastal West Division as the Clippers hold a one point lead on both the Grizzlies and Bulldogs for second place.

Nanaimo wraps up their 2025 schedule with a road game in Victoria on Dec. 20.
