Malcolm Telford McPherson, June 4, 1934 – October 26, 2025
In Loving Memory of Malcolm Telford McPherson June 4, 1934 – October 26, 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Malcolm Telford McPherson, who died peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Surrey, BC, after a short illness. Born on June 4, 1934, in Vancouver, Malcolm lived a life marked by curiosity, warmth, and a quiet appreciation for simple joys. Malcolm spent his career with Pacific Western Airlines, working in both Richmond and Calgary. A proud Scotsman at heart, Malcolm especially cherished Scottish Country Dancing, a passion he and Mary enjoyed for decades. Their shared love of dance brought them friendships, community, and countless memories. Malcolm also found joy in the rhythm of everyday life. He had a lifelong love of gardening, tending to plants with the same care and steadiness he offered those around him. He and Mary lived for many years in Parksville, where Malcolm enjoyed long walks by the ocean, a place that brought him peace and reflection. Malcolm is survived by Mary, his devoted wife of 48 years; his step-children, Lana, Bryan, and Jim; his sister Mavis; and his niece and nephew Nancy and Rovin. He will be remembered for his gentle presence, his dry humour, and the quiet generosity of his spirit. Malcolm spent his final days at Peace Arch Hospital and the Weatherby Pavilion, where he received compassionate care. The family is deeply grateful to the staff who supported him during this time. At Malcolm’s request, there will be no service. Those wishing to honour his memory may do so in a way that reflects his values—by taking a peaceful walk, tending a garden, or donating to a charity of their choice.
