Police investigate suspicious deaths

Port Alberni R-C-M-P are investigating a suspicious death after a man died in hospital from injuries sustained during an attack on the weekend.

Police say they were called to Johnston Road and Victoria Quay just after midnight on Sunday, with officers finding a man suffering from serious injuries.

Police say the man was taken to hospital but died despite life-saving efforts.

Mounties say the victim has been identified, but his name is not being released at this time. No word on whether they have a suspect or have made any arrests.
