Gregory Raymond Jetter, April 1, 1949 – January 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory Raymond Jetter, affectionately known as “Gramps.” Greg was raised in Prince Rupert, living in logging camps with his parents, Raymond and Hazel. At the age of 20, Greg moved to Vancouver Island with his young family and started Hello Deli and Catering. Over the years, Greg held many jobs, but his love for learning and cooking led him to pursue a Culinary Arts degree at VIU at the age of 56. Greg worked as a chef at many local restaurants in Nanaimo, including the Coast Bastion Hotel, the Lighthouse Bistro, and the Occidental Pub. He was also a proud member of the Cavalotti Lodge for more than 10 years, where he prepared many meals for his friends and colleagues. Greg’s pride and joy were his family. He will forever be remembered for the beautiful birthday meals he made for everyone, the signature tune he was always whistling, and his deep love for his family. Greg is predeceased by his father, Charles Raymond Jetter; his mother, Hazel Pilfold (née English); his brother, Gary Jetter; and his sister, Lorraine Jetter. Greg is survived by his daughter Angelica (David), his son Keith, grandchildren Lezah (Dylan), Shanni, Ben, and great grandson Dawson. A small service will be held on June 1st. Please contact Angelica at 778-269-0162 if you would like to attend.
