Karen Nichols, June 12, 1946 – March 23, 2025

Our lovely mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Karen, passed away on March 23, 2025. She is survived by her daughters Katie (Mike), Shanny (Dan), and Lia (Ryan); and grandchildren Leif, Melody, and Ryan. Born in Vancouver, B.C., Karen graduated from Prince of Wales High School and UBC. Karen loved being a teacher, especially her years at Dorothy Lynas Elementary School. Karen’s favourite times were with her daughters and some of her best memories were many years spent with her family on Savary Island. The family would like to express our gratitude for the special care provided to Karen by the staff at Eden Gardens Compassionate Dementia Care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eden Gardens or to the Savary Island Land Trust (SILT). The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth, One is nearer God’s heart in a garden Than anywhere else on Earth – D.G.
