PORT ALBERNI — After not facing each other for ten months the Clippers and Bulldogs rekindled their hostilities in game that needed overtime to solve.

Nanaimo started well with Dylan Kinch scoring two minutes into the contest and then Elliot Perrault notched his first in the BCHL on a first period power play.

The Bulldogs struck back in the second period on a man advantage goal by Zeke Nicholson.

Brady McIsaac evened the score with an Alberni Valley shorthanded goal early in the third period.

The Clippers once again forged out in front with a beautiful set up from Cole Lonsdale to Joel Plante with 13 minutes left in the game.

In the dying minutes of regulation time the Bulldogs again came back to knot the game at 3-3 on a Zeke Nicholson deflection.

Alberni was given a power play early in overtime and Brady McIsaac found the top of the net for the winner.

McIsaac finished the night with two goals and two assists.

Four straight Bulldog power plays in a 22 minute span in the middle of the game allowed the home team to capture momentum.

Alberni Valley went 2/6 on the man advantage and Nanaimo was 1/4.

Clippers head coach Colin Birkas admitted to feeling short changed on penalty calls in the contest with Nanaimo staring down several potential injuries over the course of the night.

The final shots finished 30-27 in favour of the Bulldogs, although they never led until the final shot 2:09 into overtime.

Nanaimo now moves on to their home opener on Friday Sept. 27 against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
