“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.” Our world turned upside down with the passing of our beautiful mother on July 18, 2023. A year later the pain of losing her feels every bit as raw, but we know that’s a true testament to what a wonderful person she was. Born in Ladysmith and living the majority of her life in Nanaimo, our mom enjoyed ‘living the island life,’ though she eventually moved to Burnaby to be closer to her kids and 3 cherished grandchildren, as well as many grand-pets over the years. Our mom loved us more than anything and always put her family first. She was the most kind, thoughtful, genuine mother (and Gommy), and our go-to person for everything. She is deeply missed by us all, especially our dad, who she celebrated 50 years of marriage with last April. We cherish the memories we created with that milestone, as well as the countless other times we were fortunate enough to share together. Life will never be the same without you, Mother, but we’re so grateful to be your kids and we promise to continue living our lives in ways we know would make you proud. Thank you for giving us enough love to last us our entire lives. We love you and miss you more than words could ever say. Love Forever, Michael and Elizabeth.
