Zlatko Finci – March 20th, 1949 – April 5th, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Zlatko Finci announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, at the age of 75. Zlatko was born on March 20, 1949 in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He was predeceased by his parents Avram “Albert” Finci and Olga Finci. Zlatko will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maya Terzic-Finci, his son Oggie (Danica), grandchildren Lynn and Ellington and his daughter Sanja (Michael), grandchildren Sofia, Mariana and Claire. Zlatko graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at University of Sarajevo. His profession took him on many projects across Ethiopia, Tanzania, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Egypt. Zlatko immigrated to Vancouver in 1994 with his wife and children. He laid the foundation for the family to thrive in Canada. He spent most of his leisure time with his wife and children, enjoying bike rides and strolls in Stanley Park, playing tennis, basketball and cross-country skiing at Cypress Mountain. In retirement, Zlatko and Maya moved to Nanaimo in 2017 to be closer to and help care for their grandchildren. He is remembered by all as someone with a huge heart who you could always rely on. He was kind and generous. Those that knew him have so much to celebrate and share.
