‘No further information:’ search resumes near found truck for missing Errington woman

PARKSVILLE — Searches are expected to return to the backcountry over the weekend, attempting to locate a missing woman.

Sara Sherry, 45, was reported missing in late-February from her home in Errington. She was last seen Feb. 15, but fell out of contact with friends and family shortly after.

Sgt. Shane Worth said initial search efforts led to the discovery of her truck about 20 kilometres away from the Hwy. 19/NW Bay Logging Rd. on Feb. 23, however, Sherry was nowhere to be found.

“Since that time, the weather in the area where Sara’s truck was located has been bad, it’s hampered any ongoing search efforts as there was…up to a foot of snow in the area where her truck was located.”

Arrowsmith Search and Rescue are leading efforts to locate the woman.

Operations are set to resume this weekend as the weather clears, with initial efforts again centred in the area where her truck was found.

“We have received no further information as to her whereabouts since her truck was located and the best information we have at this time is that would have been Sara’s last known location,” Worth told NanaimoNewsNOW.

He added while little bits of information have come into the detachment linked to the investigation, nothing has been substantial enough to alter their course.

Officers have also not received any information from banking, cell phone or other records to indicate she’s elsewhere.

Worth said there’s no criminality suspected in her disappearance.

Investigators are asking anyone out in the area this weekend to keep an eye out and alert Oceanside RCMP at 250 248 6111 if they see anything relevant.
