Quebec man charged with murder after his wife found strangled in seniors residence
TERREBONNE, Que. — An 81-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the strangling death of his 79-year-old wife at a Montreal-area seniors residence.
Police were called to the residence, Ressource de Lanaudière, in Terrebonne, Que., around 6 p.m. Saturday after two people were found unconscious in an apartment.
Thérèse Brassard-Lévesque was declared dead at the scene, and Gilles Brassard was transported to hospital.
Terrebonne police say Brassard’s health had improved enough that they were able to formally arrest him.
