Nanaimo Real Estate Market Report: June 2023

NANAIMO – Despite rate hike, June remains busy.

In June, 117 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, on par with May and only down 2.5 per cent from the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were down slightly from the previous year.

The average price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $876,671 in June, an increase of 5 per cent from May and on par with last year.

These are the benchmark numbers for Nanaimo in June 2023, as well as central and northern Vancouver Island:

  • Nanaimo’s benchmark price decreased to $792,200, an 8 per cent decrease from last year.
  • Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $652,500, a 8 per cent decrease from the previous year.
  • Comox Valley’s benchmark price decreased by 8 per cent from last year to $805,300.
  • Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $771,200, a decrease of 9 per cent compared to June 2022.
  • The Parksville-Qualicum area decreased 6 per cent from the last year to $880,400.
  • Port Alberni’s benchmark decreased to $532,600, a 9 per cent decrease from last year.
  • The North Island area decreased 7 per cent from last year to $431,100
