Woodgrove’s Scan, Shop & Play to Win – $65,000 in giveaways since July

Woodgrove Shopping Centre has officially welcomed the start of a new fall season by celebrating the final instalment of their popular giveaway – Scan, Shop & Play to Win!

Thousands of shoppers were present for the event, which took place Saturday, Sept. 24. The contest boasted giveaways equal to $15,000, in addition to fun games and live entertainment.

To date, Woodgrove Centre has given away a total of $65,000 in Gift Cards & prizes and has attracted over 45,000 customers since the campaign’s inception in July 2022.

Participants simply had to scan the advertised QR Code to receive a free $10 Gift Card and raffle ticket for the 18 grand prize Lucky Draw.

Winners of the Lucky Draw went home with prizes such as Diamond Back Mountain bike, Nintendo Switch Lite, $300 Woodgrove Centre Gift Card, Nespresso Coffee machine, TCL Smart TV, plus tons more! If shoppers spent over $100 during the campaign, they could increase their chances of winning even more by playing a game to win an additional free $10 Gift Card.

The audience was treated to Disney-themed dance performances from Nanaimo’s own, Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts and could also take photos with Toys “R” Us store-mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe.

Woodgrove Centre would like to give a special thanks to Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts, SportChek, The Hudson’s Bay, The Source, and Toys “R” Us for their support on this special occasion.

“The wide range of back-to-school promotions in the shopping centre and the giveaway event have encouraged customers to shop more with us. The more they spend, the more discounts and $10 gift cards they will get, which is our purpose for the Scan, Shop & Play to Win event – to give back to our frequent shoppers who always choose us as their shopping destination,” said Central Walk, the company which owns Woodgrove Shopping Centre.

The result of the pandemic has transformed retail shopping habits and settings where the public congregates. Central Walk’s intention is to shift this dynamic and strengthen their roots in the community by giving back locally and creating a safe retail environment for friends and family to enjoy.

Woodgrove Centre recently celebrated their two-year anniversary under the ownership of Central Walk, a global real estate investment firm. Since the acquisition of Woodgrove Centre, Central Walk has acquired Mayfair Shopping Centre and Tsawwassen Mills.

The final Scan, Shop & Play to Win for 2022 went out with a bang!

The giveaway and additional activities created an exciting buzz and increased retailer exposure. The shopping centre attracted over 15,000 shoppers breaking traffic records by nearly 6% over the previous year.
