Winners announced for Nanaimo Community Hospice Dream Lottery

NANAIMO — There’s a few extra smiles in the community, thanks to a successful Dream Home Lottery.

Nanaimo Community Hospice announced the winners of their lottery, raffling off a $1.7 million home in Lantzville and a massive 50/50 jackpot.

The winner of the 3,000 square foot, four-bedroom, three-bath Lantzville dream home was Gabriella Vallillee of Lantzville.

Betsy Wagger of Nanaimo claimed half of the 50/50 jackpot of $521,100.

Nanaimo Community Hospice work with people and families in dealing with death and dying through a slate of free programs, supports and educational resources.

The money raised from the lottery will go towards not only continuing those programs in the community, which includes throughout central Vancouver Island, but building a stand-alone Hospice House in the region.

Nanaimo Community Hospice celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2021 and directly works with over 1,750 people in the region on end-of-life issues.
