Clippers score four straight to beat Bulldogs 5-2

NANAIMO — The Clippers are on a three game winning streak after a 5-2 victory over Alberni Valley.

After Sean Donaldson opened the scoring for the Clippers the Bulldogs tallied twice to take a 2-1 lead five minutes into the second period.

From there Nanaimo scored four goals in a row to capture the win.

Donaldson shorthanded, Max Itagaki and Andrew Noel on power plays and Austin Spiridakis rounded out the scoring.

Jed Baliotti earned his second win of the season in net stopping 24 shots.

The Bulldogs outshot Nanaimo 26-24 and both teams finished with four power plays.

Each team earned a shorthanded marker in the contest.

The Dec. 12 three stars were 1) Max Itagaki 2) Sean Donaldson 3) Josh Zary

Nanaimo is 3-1 against the Bulldogs and 15-4 against the Coastal Division this season.

The Clippers are on the road Dec. 15 for a 7 p.m. faceoff versus the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Nanaimo has three games left before their Christmas break.

They also host Cowichan on Dec. 17 and travel to Victoria Dec. 18.
