Jets sign forward Evgeny Svechnikov to one-year, two-way contract

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Evgeny Svechnikov on a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal carries an average annual of US$750,000 in the NHL.

Svechnikov, 24, recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) in 21 games for the Detroit Red Wings last season. 

The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia native has played 41 games over four seasons for the Red Wings since turning professional in 2016, recording 12 points (five goals, seven assists) and 20 penalty minutes.
