Clippers come up short with 4-1 loss in Victoria
COLWOOD — The Victoria Grizzlies dominance over the Nanaimo Clippers continued on Thursday with a 4-1 decision at the Q Centre.
Nanaimo did outplay Victoria in the first period but the Grizzlies broke the game open with two goals in the second period.
Cole Pickup snapped a shot by Austin Roden to make the game 1-0 and then in the final minute of the second, new Grizzly Shawn O’Malley extended the lead.
The Clippers made a strong push early in the third with Ben Solin notching a power play goal behind Tony Rehm.
