COVID-19 outbreak confirmed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

NANAIMO — A COVID-19 outbreak has been confirmed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Island Health confirmed late on Wednesday, Nov. 11 evidence shows the outbreak currently involves five staff members in one transitional care unit at the hospital.

The unit is closed to admissions and visitors.

“Island Health has implemented comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19 in all acute and long-term care facilities,” a release said.
