NANAIMO — Health officials announced a slight dip in the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 13 new cases on Tuesday, July 14. This follows several days of more than 20 new cases.

“We’ve had more than we’re used to seeing in the last few days. This is not unexpected. We are getting out more, we’re getting more active and unfortunately transmitting the disease. But we’re also monitoring closely.”

No new cases were confirmed for Vancouver Island, where the total remains at 135.
