Just 1 new COVID-19 case province-wide, active cases drops below 200
NANAIMO — A single new COVID-19 diagnosis in the province represents the lowest new case count since March 6, more than two weeks before a provincial health emergency was declared.
A joint statement from health minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported the number of active cases of the virus had been reduced to 193, while 21 people are in hospital.
One new COVID-19 related death in the Fraser Health region was announced during the Friday, June 5 update, for a provincial total of 167.
Five hospitalized patients are receiving intensive care due to COVID-19.
