Nanaimo man arrested following attempted robbery & stabbing attack

NANAIMO — A man who is well-known to police now faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing and attempting to rob a woman early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to a house on Glenayr Dr. around 2 a.m. on April 29 where a woman was found with several serious but non-life threatening stab wounds.

She was taken to hospital in Nanaimo for treatment.

Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW officers found the suspect, 31-year-old Michael Robert Hanson, a short distance away.
