No new COVID-19 cases on Vancouver Island, province reinforces stay home measures

NANAIMO – The Island Health region continues to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced no new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, April 11. It keeps the total of positive tests confirmed in the Island Health Region at 84.

Overall, the number of cases across B.C. jumped 35 to 1,445 while 905 people have now recovered from the virus after producing two negative tests, 24 hours apart.

Dr. Henry also confirmed that 134 people are currently hospitalized in the province with the novel coronavirus.
