NANAIMO — Local RCMP have captured a prolific drug offender during a Wednesday night raid.

Officers entered a Chestnut St. home near the Departure Bay ferry terminal and arrested 35-year-old Curtis Jesse Houle.

Houle was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations.

He was arrested without incident.

Nanaimo RCMP and the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team (ERT) seized a replica Glock hand gun and ammunition, along with a sawed-off shotgun. Approximately two ounces of drugs, thought to be methamphetamine and cocaine were found, along with $2000 cash.

Drug and firearm-related offences against Houle are pending.

Two males also arrested at the home were later released with no pending charges.

Nanaimo Mounties continue their investigation.
