FEBRUARY 24, 1930 ~ MARCH 29, 2018 (AGE 88)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter on March 29, 2018 at the age of 88.
Peter will be forever missed by his wife of 65 years, Joan; and their three sons, Christopher, Graham (Audrey) and Stephen (Heidi). He will be deeply missed by his sisters Sally and Pamela and his four loving grandchildren Jennifer (Matt), David (Jennifer), Amanda and Chelsea (Trevor); nieces; Leah, Sophie, Tessa, Melanie and Amanda, nephews; James (Jacky) and Neil.
Peter graduated from Christ Hospital (Old Blue) at 17 years of age and joined the British Royal Navy as an Officer Cadet in training with the Engineering Branch serving on the HMS Hanson based in Weymouth- Dorset.
After emigrating from England to Canada back in 1954, Peter enjoyed a long and successful career in the Corrugated Packaging Industry having worked in sales, sales management for MacMillan Bloedel, Belkin and Domtar Industries.
Peter had many interests, Artist, Painter, was accomplished at drawing. He was a sailor who enjoyed sailing with his family in the Gulf Islands and Howe Sound. He was also a competitive swimmer in his youth and an avid tennis player in his day. Peter enjoyed singing and sang with several different choirs in the Victoria, Parksville and Qualicum Beach communities.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, Dr. Shaffer all the wonderful staff working at Nanaimo General Hospital Palliative Care Unit for making Peter’s final days/hours as comfortable as possible, we are truly grateful.
