NOVEMBER 1, 1920 ~ FEBRUARY 23, 2019 (AGE 98)
It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Lil on February 23, 2019 at West Coast General Hospital.
Predeceased by husband Henry, son Gerald, son-in-law Richard Brown, brothers Ted, Les, Bill and Art Chase; she is survived by her daughter Karen, daughter-in-law Denise Poole, sisters Rita, Ruby and Rowena, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great, grandchildren – a total of five generations; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Born November 1, 1920; Lil lived all her life in Cherry Creek, celebrating 99 Christmas Dinners at the family home.
Lil loved God and served her church faithfully, attending All Saints’ Church for 77 years until its closing, then attending Cedar Grove Church for 16 years, until her passing.
Lil was a “Life-time” volunteer – Extraordinaire – raising funds to build the ‘old’ Cherry Creek School and the Cherry Creek Hall as well as their furnishings; endless church activities at All Saints’ Church, District Treasurer for Scouts Canada, secretary for the Sons of Norway, Job’s Daughters Guardian Council, and anything else she could help with; all the while taking care of her family.
Lil was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
A special ‘Thank You’ to Dr. Putz – so sorry that she will be missing her dinner date at the Casino wearing her Pink Dress. She was looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday with you. And ‘Thank You’ to the Home and Community Care Team for all their years of dedicated service.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 – 1:00 PM at Yates Funeral Chapel – 4470 Gertrude Street, Port Alberni – Pastor Per Knudsen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lil’s name may be made to the West Coast General Hospital Foundation, Port Alberni, BC
