Peter Ado Kadak
Born 2nd February 1933 in Voru, Southern Estonia

Voru was a farming community. His Father was a police officer. Life was pleasant until June 1940 when the Red Army suddenly invaded Estonia. They evacuated to a refugee camp in Germany, as the Germans were defending Estonia against Soviet Russia, where they remained until August 1949.
The family then emigrated to Australia in September 1949. As soon as Peter graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1957, he married Sif Elizabeth Olinder in June 1957 at the Congregational Community Church in Sydney. Peter then worked in the Snowy Mountains as a hydro electric civil engineer. Peter & Sif had three daughters born in Australia – Christine in 1959, Ingrid in 1961 and Anne in 1964. Peter and Sif remained in Cooma, Snowy Mountains, until February 1966 when they emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where Peter joined BC Hydro. Their fourth daughter, Karen, was born in 1968. Today there are 14 grandchildren.
At BC Hydro he was a Section Head in Generation Planning where he was responsible for the planning of future hydroelectric projects throughout the Province. He retired in 1988. In
all he lived in four countries: Estonia, Germany, Australia and Canada.
Peter was humble with a strong work ethic; he did not seek attention, and was an amazing and loving Father, Papa, Son and Husband. He also was a great role model to all us and a Man of strong Christian Faith.
