Scooter rider seriously injured after hitting vehicle in Nanaimo

NANAIMO — A man has life-threatening injures after police say the scooter he was riding rammed a vehicle on Wall St. near downtown Nanaimo.

Police said the man was flown to hospital in Victoria after witnesses indicated the man rear-ended the vehicle near the entrance to the Nanaimo Curling Club.

The chain-reaction incident occurred when the leading vehicle braked for a pedestrian using the marked cross walk on Wall St, police said based on witness accounts.

The incident occurred Thursday, Oct. 17 at 3:20 p.m.
