Eric Lamaze and Amy Millar lead Canada’s equestrian team at Rio Olympics
TORONTO — Two familiar names will be leading Canada’s equestrian team at the Rio Olympics — with a twist.
Show jumpers Eric Lamaze of Schomberg, Ont., and Amy Millar of Perth, Ont., were two of the 13 equestrians named to Canada’s Olympic team on Thursday.
Millar is the daughter of Ian Millar, who holds the record for Olympic appearances at 10.
Ian Millar had hoped to compete and add to his record, but Dickson, his main horse, required sinus surgery that kept him from being competitive at the Rio Games.
