Two child pornography charges laid against former fire chief from Barriere, B.C.
BARRIERE, B.C. — The former fire chief of Barriere, B.C., has been charged with two child pornography offences.
Al Kirkwood, 62, appeared in provincial court in Kamloops this week charged with one count of importing and distributing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
RCMP say an investigation began in August after the B.C. Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (BC ICE) received several reports from the U.S. National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and the Canadian National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.
Multiple RCMP units executed search warrants on Oct. 4 at four locations in the Barriere and Clearwater area, police say.
