Prolific offender sentenced following Nanaimo traffic stop

NANAIMO — Already facing a lengthy prison sentence for drug trafficking, an offender pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge in relation to a Nanaimo traffic stop.
Peter Anthony Alexander, 42, entered a guilty plea to a downgraded simple drug possession charge and was handed 30 additional days behind bars in connection to a November, 26 2024 traffic stop in Nanaimo.
Federal Crown prosecutor Kathleen Ker-Donohue briefly outlined the facts as a jointly submitted sentencing recommendation was submitted at BC Supreme Court in Nanaimo on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
“Police located approximately 38 grams of a fentanyl mix, as well as a small quantity of methamphetamine, some cash, two cell phones and a drug pipe with residue,” she said.
