Early morning highway crash in Lantzville claims two lives

LANTZVILLE — Two people were killed in an early-morning collision along Hwy. 19, near Ware Rd.

First responders, including from Lantzville Fire Rescue, BC Emergency Health Services, and Nanaimo RCMP were called to near the intersection just after 3 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, after a two-vehicle crash.

Reserve Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW both vehicles were travelling in the southbound lanes.

“Despite the efforts of first responders, two occupants of one of the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. A second driver associated with the second car was transported to the hospital for further treatment.”
